PROTOTYPE – FURNITURE DESIGN
STATUS: RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
EXHIBITED: INVENTORY 03 (ART BASEL ’12)
Cabinet Prototype I explores color theory, composition and reductive form to define its boundaries. Made entirely out of humble materials (one sheet of 3/8” birch plywood, 1/8” birch dowels and paint), the design’s colorful assembly and simple construction allow the object to stand on its own. Each box has two concealed storage spaces and one open shelf. Each separate box also acts as a shelf.
Dimensions of each unit:
121 x 18 x 20 cm
Assembly of three units:
121 x 92 x 20 cm
Color: Upon request
Materials:
3/8? birch plywood, 3/16? birch dowels
