High Rise / Church Adaptive Reuse

LOCATION: JACKSONVILLE, FL

STATUS: IN DESIGN

This downtown revitalization effort in Jacksonville’s business district reimagines a historic church adaptively reused as a commercial space with a residential tower component rising above it. To preserve the street level condition and the roof structure of the church, the tower rises from the back of the site. A steel frame rests on a concrete plinth, and the design carries on the geometries of the neighboring early 20th century high rises.
